Join expert guides for a week-long 'Geotour' throughout the North West Highlands Geopark. The area has the lowest population density in Europe and exhibits unique geodiversity and biodiversity. As home of the oldest rocks in Europe, the first identified thrust fault, the oldest and biggest meteorite impact ejecta, and with evidence of the earliest life; the North West Highlands Geopark really is the “Cradle of Geology”. Visit our most iconic Geosites, learn how to read the landscape and recognise rock types in the field, take in views of our spectacular mountains and hear their 1.2 billion year old story. Some flexibility is possible depending on the interests of the group - perhaps expanding on what you've already learned, answering burning questions or travelling to some spectacular spots!
Transportation via mini bus, insurance and materials are all included. Accommodation is not included, however please feel free to contact us for advice.

The North West Highlands Geopark Ltd is a community led charity that manages and cares for our UNESCO Global Geopark. Global Geoparks are places where fantastic geology is used to support local communities. We organise events and activities of all kinds, with an emphasis on fun and discovery.
Our mission is to celebrate, conserve and promote our unique, internationally recognised geological heritage in a manner consistent with our status as a Scottish Registered Charity and UNESCO accreditation. We are visibly embedded in our communities, both local and international, and work alongside trusted partners who share our values and aspirations. In so doing, we aspire to use this heritage to help maintain economically sustainable communities, being ever mindful of climate change and wider social issues.
