We provide a 2-3 hour walk with a Ranger, who will guide you to sites around Knapdale where we would not normally take groups on our public walks. The walk also includes an introduction to the lives of these fascinating animals, their journey so far in Scotland and an opportunity to examine artefacts associated with Eurasian beavers and their activities.
We will give you an insight into the fascinating and complex interactions that take place within this rare and threatened Celtic Rainforest habitat. Home to many of Scotland's most precious and iconic species, we are based in a 550-hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a National Scenic Area (NSA). The beavers, initially released into a number of nearby lochs, have since created new areas of riparian wetland, giving us a window into habitats not seen in Scotland for over 400 years.
Our walks are available for individuals and for groups of up to 10 people.
To book, please follow the booking link and then get in touch with Argyll Beaver Centre - this experience is different to the public beaver walks.

The Argyll Beaver Centre is located in the middle of Scotland's very own rainforest, a magical place of strange and exotic lichens, iconic animals and ancient trees. Red squirrels, ospreys, pine martens, hen harriers, otters, golden-ringed dragonflies and many others all have their homes here.
And now the beavers are back! Nature's ultimate ecosystem engineers are making our rainforests even more spectacular through their creation of wetlands that teem with life.
At our centre you can find out about all of the amazing wildlife to be found here.
At our hide you have the chance of seeing creatures such as badgers, red squirrels, pine martens and woodpeckers.
