WONDER SEEKERS is the new transnational brand for SCITOUR (Scientific Tourism). It is a development project aiming at creating a new technology-based tourism concept combining science and tourism. The project involves five partners and twenty-six associate partners from Iceland, Scotland, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Sweden, Greenland and Norway. The project partners are the University of Lapland, the University of the Highlands and Islands, the University of Iceland and Greenland National Museum. You can find out more in the What is WONDER SEEKERS section of our website.
Science tourism is an exciting fusion of science, travel and hands-on learning. It's about providing factual, evidence-based information in an interesting and accessible way so that when you travel, you can really appreciate what you are seeing and experiencing. In science tourism, you can experience your destination as your laboratory, library, museum, theatre, field site or observatory for unique, immersive learning.
Science tourism offers a wide range of experiences in different locations. What they all have in common is a commitment to sharing factual information and knowledge in an interesting and accessible way. Our experiences include wild camping in Scotland, ice diving in Greenland, whale watching in Norway, raptor identification in the Cairngorms and kayaking with puffins in Iceland. As you can see, there is plenty to choose from and we are adding more all the time.
No. Our focus is on information and knowledge, shared with passion. WONDER SEEKERS brings science to life.
